Unicode-range is one of the properties in @font-face. It can be used to mix different font families within a paragraph. This is tested and demonstrated in tfw-test, which has mixed Lato and NotoSans font families in a paragraph.
Test Observations:
- The unicodes for characters and unicode ranges can be checked out in this website: Unicode 字符百科.
- In the Reborn project, the original font files with size around 5KB contain alphanumeric only and don’t have Chinese characters. The full font file size should be around 1.5~2MB.
- The full font files were obtained from google-webfonts-helper (by Mario Ranftl). This site provides most of the file format such as TTF, OTF, WOFF, WOFF2.
- To cater for older browsers which don’t support newer format (e.g. woff2), multiple url(‘…’) should be specified for falling back to some well supported formats (e.g ttf, otf).
